Luff is from Scotch + ArtiZen’s Yachting litter. She is a stunning girl with the sweetest nature. She gets along with everyone, is very playful and an excellent cuddler.
While she comes from my fox red lines, Luff has inherited far more of her dad’s chocolatey goodness. She’s super sweet and has the most beautiful face. She is also the FIRST to apologise for ANYONE’s bad behaviour. It’s hard to be mad when she is looking up at you asking for forgiveness (when she didn’t even do anything!!)
Not only is Luff gorgeous on the outside, but she is quite unique on the inside as well. Luff carries nearly every coat & colour recessive gene in the Labrador gene pool which means she has the amazing ability to produce a wide range of colours, coat lengths and patterns depending on who she is paired with.
For her first litter I am pairing her with Nash (father of the wonderful USA, Whittakers, and Coffee Time litters) who like Luff ALSO carries a wide range of recessive coat & colour genes.
We already love Nash for his lovely big puppies with super temperaments. His pairing with Luff just adds the bonus of a lot more variety in the coats of those puppies!
The result will be what I’m deeming a “kaleidoscope” litter!
Together Luff & Nash can produce all the traditional lab coat colours (black, chocolate, yellow) in both traditional (short) length and long coat. They can also produce all the dilute coat colours (charcoal, silver, champagne) in both traditional (short) length and long coat. The icing on the cake is that they can also produce the bi-colour coat colours — those with any of the previously mentioned coat colours or coat lengths but also having tan points on their legs, face, etc. Here are just some of the combinations that could be in this litter.
Because there are SO MANY coat colour, coat length and bi-colour coat options, those on the reservation list only need to specify the gender of puppy they are hoping for and will have selection from all puppies of that gender that would be suitable for their specific home environment and lifestyle.
While the litter should be stunning in colour, the puppies should also have exceptionally loving natures, a medium level of drive, and a keen willingness to take part in all family adventures. Body build should be medium in thickness with lovely heads, like both Luff & Nash.
Please keep in mind that this is not a litter for the family that doesn’t want their dog to stand out in a crowd. But if you like “unique”, and also love the Labrador breed, this could be the litter for you!
The puppies are 100% purebred Labrador Retrievers. It just happens to be that there is the potential for the expression of recessive genes in this litter. These genes are not common in the breed and are also not “approved” for the show ring. (So if you plan on showing, you may want to avoid this litter!)
